Apples to Apples

You have probably gotten, or will get, other quotes for outdoor lighting. We are confident that our service and products are far superior to what our competitors are offering. We hope that this information will make you aware of some of the differences between us and our competitors and help you to make your decision.

1. Were you shown a full demonstration?

This is the only way you will know exactly how your house and property will look. Will the lighting be too bright or too dim? Will it be uneven with bright spots and dark areas? Illumination is an art comparable to painting or music. You are paying for artistic ability as well as materials. You would not allow someone to paint your portrait based only on their ability to acquire and deliver good paint. You also would not hire someone to play music based only on the quality of the instruments they show you. The inability or unwillingness to do a full demonstration shows a lack of commitment and confidence. Doing a full demonstration is difficult and time consuming. We do demonstrations because we want you to see exactly what the finished product will look like. We also do it because we are willing to go the extra mile and hope that you will see the correlation between this initial effort and the type of service you can expect in the future.

2. What about photos and testimonials?

Does the company have extensive photos and testimonials of their own work? Often with a franchise, the photos and testimonials are provided for them by the corporate office and are not actually the result of any work done by the individual franchise in your area. All of our photos are of actual installations done by us in this area. Most of our customers take the time to write a testimonial after their job is complete because they are very pleased with us. Phone numbers are provided so you may contact as many customers as you like. If a company provides only a list of locations where it has installed lighting, you will never know if they were satisfied or not.

3. What are the arrangements for service?

If a system is installed correctly (wire buried deeply using conduit at transition points, all connections completely waterproof, high-quality fixtures and transformer, etc.), it will last almost indefinitely. We will always be available to repair your system if something is damaged or fails to work, but we do not ask our customers to purchase yearly service agreements. When choosing a lighting company, you should ask the following questions: What is the cost of their yearly service agreement? What actual service is provided? Will it affect your warranty if you don’t agree to a yearly service agreement or if you choose to discontinue service sometime in the future?
